    I was hoping to have had my scanner working so I could post the postcards from my great-uncle and one of the admirers of my grand-mother sent between 1915-1918. Sadly they are undated so I can only guess when they were written. 2 have the national s on them so I know one is pre-1917 and the other is late 1917 but more likely 1918 due to the presence of the Stars and stripes.

    there hardly ever seems be a youtube vid that i'd like to post today,
    i always have the in flander's field poem, bagpipes and some pretty poppy
    field in my mind today.
    as i have mentioned for a few years my uncle (2 years older then my dad),
    joined up with the raf in britain and flew a spit flier - he will hardly ever
    talk about it, as in have no info.
    my great uncle jimmy was in the 'great war'
    and we have a medal he got somewhere and no one knows
    where that is.
    (not saying a word about when he walked into the bathroom i was
    in on the toliet as a kid - he was too funny as he laughed and left,
    and of course i was a mess)

    my uncle allister drove into halifax for a checkup on his
    heart last month - they did the check and found 95% blocked
    good hmmmm, and of course fixed it and he was home in less
    then a week - sorry i almost always go off topic.
    (of course - gee)

    so wishing we would soon see a day when we never needed
    an army airforce or navy
    who doesn't hate wars?
