Just applied for the mbna smart cash card. Right now they're giving away a $100 gift card to all those who sign up either for a smart cash card or platinum plus mastercard. Also, it seems that there is no minimum spend required. With the holiday season coming up, I could sure put this gift card to good use

Gift card choices are: ToysRUs, Futureshop, Amazon.ca, Boston Pizza

You can get more information on this page: http://www.ratesupermarket.ca/deals/holiday-promo/

True. Unless you happen to need to apply for a new credit card anyway. Search the web and you'll find a surprising 900+ page of discussion on this credit card on another site - there are lots of people wanting to cancel it badly after TD took over MBNA and cut down the benefits.

Yes, my BF just got this card 2 months ago and he's planning to cancel it since he got the letter regarding the cut of benefit.

Another person disappointed with Canadian company. This is my second american company card that was great until a canadian bank bought it and drastically lowered the rewards.

Some of them have an annual fee, but you still come out ahead.

It's something to consider if you are currently in the market for a new credit card.

You say SOME of them have an annual fee...
Is there one that DOESN'T have an annual fee? Tell me about that one!
