My DS dropped his in a toilet bowl. He reluctantly picked it out, but waited just a
little too long. We tried the rice thing, sun thing and even took it apart to and
    cleaned all the little components.
Still nothing. The screen would work on bright for a few minutes then it would
darken up to the point where you could hardly see anything on it.
Needless to say, we had to get him another phone.

LESSON: ALWAYS PUT A WATER, SNOW, SHOCK AND DIRT PROOF CASE ON
YOUR EXPENSIVE PHONE!! BELIEVE ME, WE LEARNED THE HARD WAY!!!!

Mine went through the washing machine. It didn't work for a few days. I left it in rice, it eventually came back to life. Battery never stayed charged long after that though. Good luck.

you need to dry it up via hair blower with minimal heat.. then place it in a normal temperature room within an hour, then try to use it again.. goodluck!
