Joined Swagbucks 3 weeks ago and just got my first reward...

I decided on $25 Paypal. By the end of today, I will also have enough for another $5 GC, but I think I may hold off for more bucks!

Why did you guys not lead me to this sooner?! lol

I do a daily routine of the poll, NOSO, and use the toolbar for searches and that is my bread and butter. (I don't have any referrals right now) Occasionally I do a survey but maybe one a day because I belong to a lot of survey panels...anyway, I easily make $1/day or $30/month the lazy way. No SBTV or weird offers.

As a survey company, Swagbucks is awesome for the time it take to get your $$$. E.g., the Trusted Surveys are mostly through Toluna and Toluna can take 3 months for your survey dollars to credit...with Swagbucks it is pretty well instant. HUGE difference. I am going to drop my Toluna membership the next time I cash out and go through Swagbucks instead...more $$$$

careful when you redeem, it is cheaper to get the $5 amazon GC's then the $25, it would've only cost you 2250, You can only order 2 GC's a day though!
    Good job!!

I was going to get the Amazons realizing it's a better deal, but for me, having the Paypal money is more worthwhile. I can use it for absolutely anything, where the Amazon money is limited. Unless I'm missing something... if I am, please fill me in!! lol

Well I look at it this way. If you download the PayPal money into your bank account, you lose $.50 transaction fee and since Swagbucks pays US, you also lose on the exchange since PayPal charges whatever rate is going + 2.5% (so even if the dollar is at par you lose 2.5%...$10.00 would become $9.50 would become $9.26 CDN)

If you use PayPal directly at a retailer you are limited in your choices...I spent the most PayPal $ at eBay, etsy and Lands' End. Best Buy also takes PayPal (Future Shop, owned by the same company, does not) but really, it is a struggle to remember who does sometimes.

One thing annoying I found about shopping with PayPal is that if you buy in $USD, PayPal takes money from your US account then CDN account then bank/credit card/what you have set up. If you buy in $CDN, PayPal draws from your CDN account, ignores the US account, and then draws from bank/credit card. So unless you shop in USD you will not drain your US PayPal account by shopping...and if you are shopping USD, you are going to get dinged by shipping/customs.

If you get Amazon GCs, they never expire and you can bank them at amazon.ca. Shipping is free over $25 on most things, and it is always a treat when something big and bulky gets shipped right to your door instead of you going out and struggling to get it home. I bought a Samsung Sansa Zip player there for $50, $25 cheaper than anywhere else, plus of course free shipping. I am also looking at a replacement (kitchen) mandolin slicer, amazon has it for $65, cheapest elsewhere (incl. shipping or bus tickets or however I get it here) has been $100. So personally for the very specific, must be this brand and item things I have gone out and priced, I have found amazon can have some awesome prices. I usually look for 2-3 months before I buy too so that is saying something.

I used to get PayPal but once I saw how things were working out I switched to amazon.
