Can I claim investment income (T3) that is in my name on my husband's tax return?

On a related note, my husband and I have a T3 for an account that is in trust for our son who is over 18. Can I claim this on our son's return?

Whoever's name is on the T3 should be claiming the income on their return. CRA will match the T3's on file with the return, so if you claim it on the wrong one they will add the income to the return of the person the T3 is for, and may not take it off the other return, so you'd have to get an adjustment done, which can be a bit of a pain (time consuming).
