Here's my favourite: my Best Friend's niece sang it at the closing of my memorial service I performed for her last spring..I miss her so much, particularly this time of year when we shopped for our daughters until we dropped....and the chats and phone calls almost every day for over 25 years...God bless my friend, Janet...

Lynn, I watched the video of him doing a cover of the Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars song Uptown Funk ( see the MOST recent video on his list here )
https://www.youtube.com/user/ALEXBOY...os?spfreload=1
and then I realized that they had him made up to appear older than he really is!
That Uptown Funk video made me go to his channel and that was when I enjoyed the inspiring one ( Christmas )
so many talented people in our world!!

Hello! There was a Christmas movie thread somewhere but I can't find it...however, IF anyone has watched or had pvr'd a movie called "Christmas Encore", it was filmed in our town, here in Sudbury!
It's so weird...the restaurant the main actress "works" in, is really Oscar's, where our DD and I have lunch (Avon? Care to join us when you visit?)...the Grand Theatre is there, and the building to the right of it, is where my dentist is! Our DD's office at Nesbitt Burns is just kitty-corner across from Oscars in the BMO building. She said it really did look like winter out there this past summer when they were filming, although she didn't much care for the traffic congestion caused by the trailers and film crews, but it was a distraction for everyone.
So, if you watch the movie....it's my hometown! And yah...it looks like that now, too. Yucky white stuff.

Christ is born! Христос Раждається!
In the Byzantine Icon of the Nativity of our Lord, the place of Jesus’ birth is depicted as a cave - a hole in the earth. It is a setting far from the comforts of home. There is no tinsel, no candy, no turkey dinner at the first Christmas; this setting is the consequence of there being “no room in the inn” and God’s choice to enter creation - our time and space. So, the earth itself welcomed its Creator!

Everything is wrapped and food that needed to be prepped is. All I have to do is give myself a manicure and decide what to wear.

Gee, most of the world seems to be done with Christmas, but we still listen to carols and sing until the Epiphany on the Julian calendar, which is the 19th. The baptism of Jesus completes the Christmas cycle.
Water is blessed in church on the Eve of Epiphany, and parishioners can take some holy water home with them. My husband had gone to the service on the Gregorian calendar, so we have ours already.
Still enjoying listening to carols, though.
