A few weeks ago there was a story in the paper about how the SPCA was handing out pet food at the soup kitchen every Monday. I thought it was such a great idea. I have pets but not a lot of extra food, but figured if I loaded up a few boxes with personal care items I had extra of and took it down to hand out, that would help people in need and maybe it would help some to save money on those items so they could buy pet food. I had a lot of Clear shampoo/conditioner, shaving cream and razors, toothpaste, Vick's vitamin C drops, Bush's beans, and other things. So I loaded it up this morning and went down to the Soupateria. It didn't take long for a crowd to form and to get it all handed out. I was surprised at how many older people were in need. Everyone was very grateful. It was a great experience and I hope I can do it again in the near future.

I've wanted a Kitchen Aid stand mixer forever, was hoping to score one when Target closed but they were all gone by the time they hit 20% off.
So yesterday dh(who I think has picked out 3 things for me ever that weren't on a birthday/xmas list that he asked me for) suprised me with a Sunbeam stand mixer for Mother's Day! I don't even remember mentioning to him that I wanted a stand mixer, just complaining that I keep breaking my little hand held mixers. He said he was originally going to get me a Kitchen Aid one, but after comparing models and reviews the Sunbeam one had more power(typical male lol).
AND he even wrapped it in newspaper so he didn't have to go into my deminishing stash of Target wrapping papper!

Reviving this thread. My DH maybe a real pain in the backside but he can be so cute. He has been gone since October 26th and look what he had sent to the house! So pretty!!! I may not murder him this year after all!
