If Canada post is doing this because they are loosing money, they should really begin to think before they do. I am a lot less likely to send $1 off into the mail now then I was for $0.63!

I was thinking on the stamp situation.. for those of us who can't get the P ones any longer... buy the .63 ones for now and save the P ones for when the prices increase...
Be sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. It makes my day!!! Flattery may just get you more deals
Be sure to double check your flyer, points and cashback offers~ YMMV

That's what I'm doing! I managed to get 140 P stamps (some I had, some I just bought) and I'll be saving them until any increases occur.
Great post

I think they're making us pay the difference in March. But the change in price is January --- from what I've gathered from the posts on here.

Good Morning From what I understand from the News CP will be letting people use up their "P" stamps with no add on postage. I have 5 books I will hold on to and use the reg. stamps from now till April 1st/14.

I bought 10 books of stamps at Zehrs - no sales tax because of their Tax Free Days, so that's an additional bit of savings - worth considering if your local Zehrs has any of these stamps left and if they're participating in the Tax Free promo today

You do the pay difference when the price goes up next year IF you have $0.63 stamps.
If you have the P stamps, they are usable without requiring you to pay the difference.
OP is suggesting buying $0.63 stamps and using those, saving your P stamps for next year when the price goes up.

Acoording to the person who made the announcement for Canada Post, the public really agrees with this decision. So, as I think the only public he talked to was some 'yes' man who works for him, I will be contacting my local federal government rep. and explaining to him if he agrees with Canada Post, he can not expect me to support him or his party in the next election. Canada Post does not listen, maybe, just maybe, my federal MP will.
Sometimes ranting can make a difference.
(if your in Ontario, consider doing the same thing about your rising electric rates!)

@olivercat-not sure what your federal representative will do. I think Canada Post should revise the postage program for political representatives so they have to pay market rates for mailings.
But definitely complain to your Provincial representative-it was the Ontario government that decided we had to pay HST on stamps in Ontario, not just GST! I had spoken to my federal rep at his New Year's event and that is what he told me, it was not a federal decision.
May as well tell the provincial rep your concerns with electricity rates (especially those fixed amounts for delivery/global adjustment/debt repayment).
As for electric utility increases, there is a certain period of time for public to respond to rate hikes requested by utility providers.

What luckbealady said... the P stamps ARE still good forever -- but only whatever you have left.
Canada Post stopped selling them officially, but they legally have to honour them. That was the agreement when you bought them.
But good luck buying any now. I bought three rolls literally minutes after the announcement a few days ago. The folks at Costco didn't hear the news, but I spilled the beans at the checkout.
Later, I observed people buying stamps left right and center at Costco. Shopper's postal outlet that same afternoon was refusing to sell them, as instructed by Canada Post.
