I am an iphone newbie. There is a place in town that will unlock your phone for $20. Telus wants $30. Are these reasonable? Thx.

Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.

Yes $20.00 is reasonable. Make sure the company where you live is reputable. You can also search Ebay for unlock codes. The prices depend on the type of phone. I've seen as low as $10.00. Once again make sure the Ebay seller has good ratings.

I think Telus is $35 plus taxes.... Rogers wants $50.

Have you had the phone for more than 90 days? This is a Telus requirement.

Some cheap places don't know what they are doing.... if you dock or sync your phone.... it will relock and you just wasted your money. Another reason to go to Telus to get the job done right.
