Everybody may be a little tired of Winter 2014 by now.
Here's some good news from the Farmer's Almanac

April and May will be slightly warmer and rainier than normal.Summer will be warmer than normal, with the hottest temperatures in early to mid-July, mid- to late July, and early to mid-August. Rainfall will be near normal in southeast Ontario, but below normal elsewhere.
September and October will be warmer and drier than normal.
They were right on the mark about their Winter prediction. Maybe they will be right about Spring and Summer

Another positive -- all this snow, rain and moisture will be perfect for harvest come Fall.
Farmers will have a bumper crop, I predict.
Prices on fruits and veggies will be low, I predict.

Canners and preservers --you are going to have lots to put away this Fall, I predict.

"Summer will be warmer than normal" is not good news for me. Warm winter cool summer is.

We were just saying today, we hope there isn't a fast melt or we'll be swimming. WIth over 2' of snow, I hope it melts gradually. I agree though, all this precipitation and deep cold will be good for crops and Maple syrup. mmmmm!

Well, the one good thing to come out of this deep freeze that we've been living in - lots of dead bugs.
Nice to hear about the warmer than usual summer too... I'm all about the heat, the hotter the better.
When I saw the title of your thread, I wondered what doom and gloom you had posted again, Shwa Girl

Hotter than normal summer? ack, you're killing me!

i absolutely hate the summers here, almost as much as i hate the winters.
the spring and fall are decent, but too darn short!

i'm not looking at anymore weather predictions

I saw only the Shwa's prediction of bumper crops!! ( I could use a couple of good bumpers too) but seriously, I love when fruits and veg are dirt cheap!! Let the juicing begin!!

Cold winters and scorching hot summers....ahhhhhh, gotta love Canada.
Bring on the heat! If you're right Shwa Girl, I'm buying you a cold beer.
Guess I owe you a rum toddie for getting the colder than normal prediction right, which I love you for. (Yes I know the Farmer's almanac was the one to predict, but you posted it)

I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

    Thanks for this.
I knew about the ground hogs but not about the wild turkeys predicting longer or shorter winters.
