Quietest Vacuum?

Has anyone come across a vacuum that is reasonably quiet? I am surprised with all the new technology in the world, that vacuums are still as noisy as they are!

I have a kitty that strongly dislikes the vacuum (surprise, surprise...lol) and I would love to find something better for her sake. I've tested a number of them, but none of them seem to live up to their claims...

Our kitties are scaredy cats, too.

Quietest we've had was an Electrolux canister, I sure miss it.
We've had a variety of uprights since then, all noise monsters.

Yes no doubt there are all vacuum are noisy. Still waiting for silent vacuum..

I found one that is actually somewhat quiet! A Bissel Hard Floor Expert Deluxe Canister Vacuum from Sears:

I spent a weekend watching (many, many) vacuum reveiws/videos on youtube...lol....and learnt a few helpful things about vacuums (really didnt know a thing about them before...) This fellow was particularly helpful!




Also a very nice lady working at sears let me test out a bunch of vacuums in-store to find the quietest one
