Just wondering if anyone has used a halogen cooker? Are they worth the money for time saved and reduced electricity consumption (ie by not using your oven)?

Never tried one or had anything cooked in one. Just have seen the infomercials for the FlavorWave. For me, too much heat concentrated in one little place.

They work. I don't think they're a total substitute for an oven (but at least stuff cooks and browns). Still can't get pizza to turn out right. They are smaller than an oven so it depends on the number of people you're cooking for. I would still recommend waiting until there's some sale on (I know the knockoffs can go for around $32).

Thanks List465! I'm really curious about them, especially for roasting meat (beef, chicken, etc., although I don't think I'd fit a turkey in one) and wouldn't want to buy one without knowing if they're any good.

I wouldn't buy halogen cooker. As Natalka said, yes, too much heat in one place. You never know if it's safe.
