Time to get that ice chipped, Darth! We used to have to do that for the street drain near our old house, we don't know what will happen with us in our new place.
So nice to have the front door open, birds chirping and cats interested in listening to them!

Lies. Around here, there isn't a single, solitary sign of spring. Some melting, yes, temps are more moderate, but geez.
I'm SO over this snow that's piled up everywhere and I want to open my windows, too, and hear birds (crows don't count)..pretty birds..but it's still mid-winter here and that's not very nice at all.

I love them too and I was speaking last year with a grower who I found about 30km from here and was asking her what we can do next year (this year) to replace Impatiens since they will not be available and she suggested I try Pansies in the shade. I always figured they should go full sun and of course with the terrible heat we get hear they just get scraggily and burn to a crisp. She promises they will thrive in the shade.
This year I am going to go hog wild and get them for my shade planters in the back. I am hoping for great results.

Where we used to live, the flower plot and pots faced east, so all varieties of pansies and violas did well because they just got the morning and some of the midday sun.
Now where we are, we are oriented north/south, so I have to try things all over again for all types of planting!
