Redeem Air Miles Cash for GCs?

Can you redeem your Air Miles Cash in store towards a purchase of gift cards?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I've done that in the past.

This was Atlantic Sobeys that I've done it with. I've also used Sobeys GCs to buy other GCs (like Subway, Lawtons, etc.), normally when they have a GC promotion for bonus AM.

I've used it at Shell to purchase SDM gift cards.

However I have been able to use my Air Miles cash at Metro to buy a Metro GC that I used at the (cheaper, closer) Food Basics...I wonder if Metro GC's are the only exception (or if that still works?)

Did that around December/January so fairly recently.

Last time I did it, it said $0 available to redeem, added a candy bar and it let me redeem the GC

I have been able to redeem for various gc's at Jean Coutu. I have bought iTunes, Shell, etc.
