I was at Atlantic Superstore recently and thought I'd seen uFile on sale for $14.99. I didn't have a chance to buy it then, was at the store for work. I just went to do our regular shopping, the tag on the shelf said $19.99. I picked it up anyhow and got a price check when I got to the checkout. $14.99!

Paying for tax software is needless.

StudioTax is a free download, and is every bit as accurate as paid software.

The formulas and calculations are the same same regardless.

Isn't Studiotax free only if you're at a certain income level?

UFile lowered the number of included returns from 8 to 4 (I need 5) So they didn't get my business this year. Turbo tax is at 8, but I suspect they will lower it next year..... they tried to lower it to 2 a few years ago, only to back track when UFile provided 8.

I think I read on the box you get four, plus four more if your income qualifies? We don't qualify for that and we only have DH and I (and DS, but he does not earn income, he just gets deductions) so I didn't look very closely.

StudioTax is FREE regardless of income. And you can do up to 20 returns.

I thoroughly endorse Studio Tax. I have been using it for about seven years now. It is totally free, easy to use, even handles my small business entries. The odd time I have a query I send them an email and they respond within hours. There are absolutely no catches, every bit as good as the paid one, no ads, pop-ups, whatever. A few days ago they released a Mac version for OSX users too. It's a Canadian product for Canadians.
