Ok, so ive been making cabbage rolls for years the old fashioned way but i want to use my crock pot to make them this time. Has anyone ever dont crock pot cabbage rolls? I will be using 2 cabbages to its a big recipe. Will they all fit in the crock pot? Do i make them the same way and just put them in the crock pot and then slow cook them? Or is there a little trick to it? I dont need a recipe, i just need some information on crock pot cabbage rolls. This is for Easter dinner and we will be a gang.
I checked with Google and, i dont know, i think i would prefer hearing from someone who has actually done them in a crock pot. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I have made them once and turned out fine and yummy. I rolled them up tight and made three layers of cabbage rolls and then poured over tomato juice and sauce - turned it on high and cooked for 5 hours or so.

Ok, i made cabbage rolls for Easter sunday in a crock pot this time. I made them the same way as usual, stacked them in the crock pot and added a bit of water and a few cans of heinz tomato juice and set it on low for 8 hours. They turned out great! The only thing i would do differently would be to add tomato juice between layerings. I used 2 heads of cabbage for the holubtsi and they all went. Thought i would share this with everyone in case you want to try in a crock pot.

Thanks for letting us know! The only drawback I could see is that they would seem steamed, rather than roasted, as when done in the oven.
