Credit Card Xchange Rate instead of Paypal's

Hmmm. So I wasn't too sure where to post this, but hopefully it's in the correct place! I know that a lot of SCers like to buy from ebay (like me!) or use paypal. I found a solution to one of my problems and thought I would share it with everyone. Paypal loves to get you to pay their currency exchange rate which is, I think, ~3%, which can be compared to the 2.5% on a credit card. I got one of those amazon visas some time ago and tried to make a US purchase, but paypal kept trying to get me to pay their exchange rate, AND THEN charge it to my card in CAD. Seeing as the amazon visa waives the exchange fee, you can see how frustrating this would have been. I called up paypal, and the representative told me that they had no way to fix this and that I would just have to pay the paypal rate. So I ended up not buying the item, as I got the amazon visa because of no foreign exchange fee. Turns out the CS rep was sorely misinformed , as I found a fix online today from last year. Worked perfectly for me! I did try to find out how to get to this page through my paypal profile, but it seems to be very well hidden. Couldn't even find anything when searching exact terms from the page through their help topics.
Of course, it's totally up to you who you would like to process the exchange, but in my case, the credit card company was the better option.
