As of last night we have officially sold our house and bought a new one. We get possession Next Friday! Our house closes April 30!
Pack-a-pack-a-pack! They call me the Packer!
We moved over the past 3 days.- YAY!
BUT - DH has wound up in the hospital with some kind of infection.
It took them 20 Hours to move all our stuff in. $$$$$
I'm hoping that DH will be much better tomorrow. Good thoughts , please. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by avoncallingu; Wed, Apr 30th, 2014 at 08:16 PM.

We always move ourselves if moving local. Saves huge money and between our kia and truck it doesnt take too long. We hardly ever get any help because no one wants to help. If they do we give them gift certificates. We always buy new house and have a 2 week overlap. (most banks will give you a 1-4 week grace period before first mortgage payment. I never use boxes. Our 2nd move I went to walmart when they had an amzing sale on bins and got 40 for 120$ +tax. now thats all we use. all clothes in garbage bags and i have about 50 % off my stuff packed and in storage unit before even listing to declutter and make house roomy feeling. Then we move the storage unit after we are settled and end up getting rid of things that we found we really dont need or like.
I dont pack books or magazines (everything is online or at library). huge pile is always going to sally anne bbefore and after move. clothing is used to pack breakables. I never show our house with anything personal out. Example. Family pictures. Ever. I have 3 dogs and when showing house the dogs their blankets dishes you name come with me in vehicle. no one wants to see that stuff. I even donate ahead of time lots of pantry stuff to make it look roomier and never cook in house while its for sale. bbq or subway. zero smells. I always wear sticky type gloves that give me better grip. my man thinks im a man when moving and forgets im 6 inches shorter and have less muscle. so grip is important. trim your nails! yikes that can be an epic fail. I always wear sandals. easy off and on when going in and out of house. we have old area rugs of diff sizes that we use to go around and in between things. oh the list goes on and on and im all over the place. sorry.Last edited by peachy1; Fri, Apr 18th, 2014 at 08:09 PM.
