My favorite part of Easter is going to family's homes for turkey dinner. Unfortunately we had to miss out this year because DH was on call, but we still enjoyed some good food at home

I love Easter because I am assured of a sit down dinner with my kids (difficult to do now they are older).

Basically we enjoyed a lovely, peaceful, extra long weekend. My DS is now 18 - and studying for finals so had no big expectations for easter except some chocolate and lots of food.
A few years ago I started to say "no" to my siblings expectations that I would host the celebratory occasions (xmas, easter, thanksgiving). From now on I will host the informal BBQs - in the summer. I'm just not a fantastic enough organizer/chef to plan and execute a big sit-down dinner and be relaxed and enjoy it.
At the last minute (saturday) I decided to pick up a frozen turkey and all the fixings .... We now have loads of leftovers for the week. So it makes my work week suppers so much easier.

Coloring Easter Eggs with my kids
Unfortunately this year only had my youngest and he was sick - Easter morning he got up, grabbed his Easter basket and grabbed all his hidden eggs and then went back to bed and stayed there the whole day, missed the turkey dinner at my parents

We went to the inlaws for a huge Easter Egg Hunt yesterday. There were 9 kids all together (2 were sick so it should of been 11). Then a big pot luck dinner. Had a great day! Weather was fantastic!
Today we hosted a small dinner with my family. I made a big Ham and lots of sides.
Everyone just left so we put on The Pirate Fairy for the kids (an Easter present from my mom).
All weekend was fantastic so I can't pick anything as a favourite.

-yes as coyote and walkonby said getting together with older kids is harder -one couple lives in Toronto and my son lives 14 minutes from us but he works shifts and weekends
-so lets say i bought the turkey and all got together at my son's house on Wednesday last week-see how hard its didn't even do it on easter weekend-but we still had a great time

Had a wonderful Easter - just love continuing all our cultural and religious traditions - Easter is my favourite holiday.
