Thread: Clinique Foundation

I have been using Clinique Foundation for about 10 years now. I stared with the Superfit foundation but it was discontinued a few years ago. The Clinique make-up specialist stated the Superfit was being replaced with the Acne Solutions Foundation. I have been using that for a few years now. I'm thinking of trying a different foundation. What would you recommend? I'd like to stay with Clinique but am open to any company. I would say I have combination skin, oily t-zone. I use Fresh Neutral color. I have slightly olive skin but this foundation turns darker after applying so it looks fairly natural. I want something with good coverage that won't clog pores or cause break-outs. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks !

I have combo skin with and oily t-zone too. I use Estee Lauder double wear light and love it. I've seen lots of positive reviews for the regular double wear too.
If you are going to buy high end foundation you should go to the counter and ask for a sample. That way you can try it out for a few days and see how your skin reacts before purchasing it.

Asking for samples can be nerve wracking, especially when there are quite a few people at the counter. It's a great way to see if the colour match is the best one for you. Try it on and go outside with a mirror to make sure it looks just as good in natural light as it does in the store/bathroom
Edit: You should also try to buy your foundation when they have a "gift with purchase." That way you get the biggest bang for your buck. In most cases you will meet the minimum amount.Last edited by kittysmith; Sat, Apr 26th, 2014 at 09:20 PM.

I've been happy with Clinique Superbalanced liquid foundation. I don't like a heavily made-up look and it gives me just the right amount of coverage. I got it at SDM and the sales lady tried a few on my neck before I purchased.

I also have olive skin and find many of the Clinique foundations too pink for my skin. I finally found a good match with Even Better foundation in Honey and in Golden Beige (i mix them, but i probably could get away with just one of them). Sears has a nice GWP on right now, so this is a great opportunity to pick one up. I suggest reserving one with a GWP so they don't sell out and then ask for a little sample (they will give you a little jar with enough foundation for at least a few days). It is great to see how it wears throughout the day before buying it.
