I would really love a baby carrier for my third child, but I have no clue what type to get. He is a large, long boy...at two months he is just over 24 inches long and just over 15 lbs. I would prefer something that could adjust so me and my husband could both use it, but it's not a necessity. I think I would prefer a carrier versus a sling. What would be a good option?

My DS was just a bit heavier than that at two months, and I found that he really got much too heavy for it quickly (we had a Snugli). He was an April baby too, and when it got warm out I found it too hot to carry him on me that way anyhow. Sorry to be a wet blanket! I never did really get the hang of a sling.

I'm currently using babybjorn with DS2. I got it from SIL who used it with her 3 daughters, my other SIL used it with her son and I also used it with DS1.
6 babies, all different sizes and weight and still in good shape after 12 years. Never broke or lost its colour after washing.
I carried DS1 in it until he was 9 months. I'm 5'2 and carrying him was never a problem. DH carried him too and he's 5'11

I have the babybjorn as well and really like it. My son is 3 months old and it is comfortable carrying him. There is almost a foot difference between DH and I, and we both find it very comfortable. It is also easy to wash which is a bonus.

Found carrier yet? Try beco soleil carrier. It can carry baby weight upto 45 pounds. Pretty durable.

We have been using the Manduca carrier and love it. We got it from www.prams.net and it is really easy to use and comfortable to wear. Also my LO loves sleeping in there and it's a good way to do some household chores when they want to be held.
Make sure that the carrier supports the baby's legs uo to the knee to prevent hip dysplasia. The wrapping style of most slings have this but also some carriers like the Manduca or Ergo carrier give enough support.
