Aww, that really sucks!
We use the papers for gardening too, but luckily I do the shopping for the household, so they always make sure I get the flyers so I can do the price matching.
At least you can look at the flyers online - it's just the PMing that could be an issue.
Here's hoping next week you get to the flyers before she does!

Perhaps communicating your flyer needs to her in a calm and respectful manner would result in a better understanding.
I doubt she's "dumb".Last edited by Lynn49; Sat, Jul 5th, 2014 at 06:00 PM.

I'm sure it's frustrating but if it's her house... I'm sure if you respectfully strike a deal with her, then she'd probably be willing to leave you the flyers until you're done with them. Or as other posters have already said, you can find everything online and usually in advance.

Check out the R-e-e-B-e-e app on your tablet. Not only do you get the current flyers...
-you get flyers to adjacent regions
-you get to see flyers a few days in advance to catch door crasher specials
-Future Shop/Best Buy give you Bonus flyer pages online to see what is also on sale.
-you can also see what's on sale if you are vacationing in another city.
Oh you can also read extended Courier articles online!Last edited by xlxo; Sat, Jul 5th, 2014 at 05:28 PM.

Pardon me, but what does compost mean? Like a compost bin?

There's compost and then there's city's green compost bin pickup service.
To reduce what goes out to the landfill. Vancouver residents no longer get weekly trash pickup. It's bi-weekly now, longer around holidays. Residents are encourage to throw food scraps in the green compost bin pickup for weekly pickup. Instead of plastic bags, residents are encouraged to wrap food scraps with newspaper. Some cheat by using plastic bags, but auditors come by a few times a year and slap stickers on them.
Sadly, food scraps breed unwanted pests in the summer heat....

Actually, I used to line our small City of Hamilton kitchen compost pail with a double layer of newsprint to save on buying the bags as liners. The paper gets wet quickly but it is easy to replace so you can save the $5.49 + HST for other grocery needs instead. Broadsheet papers and flyers that are not glossy are ideal though the narrower flyers might make things more likely to spill out if carrying a wrapped bundle outside to the big green cart.

Not very nice things to say about your own Mom, especially over something as minor as coupons.

Why is she" nutty" for composting paper? I don't think it's nice to call your mom dumb. She just has different priorities than you do. If she threw away flyers, maybe you should tell her that you'd like them next time

Oh, Zonny....I'm so sorry for your loss. My Mom passed away at age 92, and even now, 6 years later, what I wouldn't give for one more big hug. We had our differences, but we loved each other.......like you, I wish she was still here costing me a few cents in grocery savings....
