o.k. so a week to wait, during that time I will certainly keep you in my prayers ninna. I agree with many who posted saying that so many times it turns out to be nothing, so lets hope for that outcome!

Ninna, sending positive thoughts and energy your way. I hope you manage to put it out of your mind while you await the results.
Fwiw, I also had to do a re-test a few years ago and the clinic gave me some literature that said most re-test results come back negative.
Just found this for you:
According to the American Cancer Society, about 10% of women who have a mammogram will be called back for more tests. But only 8% to 10% of those women will need a biopsy and 80% of those biopsies turn out be benign.
Source: http://www.webmd.com/breast-cancer/f...mogram-results
In my case, the results of the re-test were indeed negative. I hope it will be the same for you Yes, keep us informed.
Sending you a hug, along with those positive thoughts, energy, and wishes
SilkHave a great life!

haha. Thanks for that reminder about the vows. He's been pretty good about everything; I just really hate the timing of all this because he's already so overwhelmed emotionally. But oh my god, what a great crowd you guys are here at SC. It's been so nice coming back on here and I promise I won't be a stranger--at least for 2 months over the summer. lol. I'm a teacher and during the school year I'm usually so busy trying to stay afloat that it's all I can do to keep my head above water from June to September.

I like those stats much better than the ones my imagination made up! Thanks so much for those.
I'm glad I turned to my SC family with this. Lots of rational, level headed caring people ready to talk me out of the panic--just as I knew there would be. Nothing is more lovely than the kindness and thoughtfulness of friends. Thanks guys!!Last edited by ninna; Wed, Jul 9th, 2014 at 09:42 AM.

I prayed for you last night, Ninna...for a good result, and for the strength to cope with this, whatever the result. We're here for you, Hon.
I hope you feel that you can talk to your hubby about this.....when you married, you bound yourselves to each other as your first priorities, so, although his father needs his attention now, it doesn't mean he's not there for you, also. Guys can be pretty strong when they need to be...lean on him, too. I don't know if your FIL's wife is still with him, but if she is, all the more reason your husband can spend equal time and more, with you.
Blessings, Hon.....

I've been going through the same thing for the past two years.
I've had two breast biopsies, two biopsies of my uterus, a colonoscopy and I have to go see my OBGYN every six months because my pap smears keep coming back with abnormal cells.
I know it's a worry, but the doctors are there to keep an eye on things and to take action when action is needed.
So, as in my case, you just learn to live with it and cross your fingers every time they do a test!
I hope for you, though, that they say it's just a benign cyst or something and you can forget about it and go on with your life.
All my thoughts and prayers are with you, Nina.

^thank you hun! My doctor told me to call her a week after the initial testing to follow up for the results...so I am counting down til Tuesdsay!
DH says the more days that pass without my phone ringing first, the better I am. He figures if it was something really bad the radiologist would've marked it urgent and the doctor would've called me to discuss. Apparently with e-records, everything is online and accessible fairly quickly. So between that and those stats Silk posted, I am managing to keep the panic down for the most part. And sometimes I'm able to rationalize with myself that worrying isn't gonna change a darned thing-- there's either something there or there isn't, but worry isn't going to make it better or worse or different.
I really do appreciate all the kind thoughts and prayers from you dear SC-ers! What a fantastic community of friends!Last edited by ninna; Sun, Jul 13th, 2014 at 10:16 AM. Reason: can't use the word fl*gged? lol.
