Reward Points for Prescriptions are back in BC

I read in yesterday's paper that the recent prohibition on giving reward points on prescriptions was struck down by a judge in British Columbia.

Sure enough, we are already seeing the results of that decision. I just received an email from Airmiles:

"Safeway is delighted to share that effective immediately, Safeway customers in BC can once again collect Air Miles on their Pharmacy prescription purchases." They are offering 7 x AM (not sure if this is a promo or if it is permanent.)

I wonder how many hours it will take SDM to re-institute Optimum points on prescriptions?

Interested to see how long is takes SDM to change back to pts for prescriptions too! Sobeys say they are going to be good in a few days (from Monday July 28.....); My bet would be is Sobeys are going this fast Loblaws/SDM will be right on track too! Good for us Thanks for finding that.... I'm on holiday this week so trying to take a break from all the "news"....

Does this include prescriptions paid for by medicare and other insurance companies too?

SDM posted on their facebook page that it's now giving pts on prescriptions (full amount even if covered by private carrier) - not on amount covered by Pharmacare or on Methodone.....

Is that just in BC or all of Canada. It would be nice to get points again in Ontario.
