Pretty cool. It's nice getting things done in advance.

Awesome steals! Way to go. I would have loved to get a goody bag like that when I was a child.

Love goody bag shopping! Great brag! Patty, hopefully you can get the supplies to the school when the office opens (and let the principal know what you've bought now so he/she can communicate that to the teachers). A lot of teachers collect money from parents for supplies and do their shopping in advance at the end of August. Most teachers poke their noses into the school about two weeks before classes start, and most check e-mail. Having lots of basic shopping done for them might free up supply money for extra art supplies and special projects that would be great for the kids. If they find out about the supplies late, they'll already have bought their classroom supplies for the year. Of course, this is assuming that your daughter attends a fairly middle-class school where parents either provide or can pay the teacher for supplies. Schools in poorer areas often have students really needing the basic supplies because their parents can't afford them.
