I have heard that Costco is coming to Collingwood/Wasaga Beach Ontario and Waterloo/Guelph Ontario too. Does anyone know if these are right and when do they open? Thanks

You are correct.

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE NOT OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED COSTCO LOCATIONS. THESE ARE POTENTIAL LOCATIONS BASED ON POPULATION LEVELS AND THE COSTCO NETWORK. COSTCO HAS OPENED IN SOME OF THESE LOCATIONS SINCE THIS LIST WAS COMPILED IN 2012.

hmmm.. I am curious for where the Hamilton East location will be.
I keep hearing about them building a Costco near Fifty Rd but not sure if it's all just rumours.
And fifty rd. is definately not Hamilton East...it's more Winona/Grimsby area.

We're in Grimsby and right in between all the Costcos! They all seem to be about the same distance from us...1/2 hour to 20 minutes. So one at Fifty Rd. would be great! I also heard rumours that they're going to be doing another Walmart Super Centre there too.

Yes, the Hamilton East location is the Fifty Rd/S. South Service one and still within the New City of Hamilton boundaries. Think we had a post on that during July in the Local>Hamilton thread. Remember, there's a GO station stop/train stop that's supposed to be located there as well.
Tourism Hamilton is likely to put an outpost location in that area-I had seen mention a couple of years ago of a plan to have a site on Fifty Road (but thought it would on Hwy 8, not along a Service Rd.).
For the Stoney Creek SCers, they'll have to decide if the new one is any better than the one in Burlington, which is closer is by highway than coming up the escarpment to Ancaster's store.
I'm questioning the Orillia, ON Costco-there is demand for it year-round in cottage country? Kind of out in the sticks.Last edited by Ciel; Thu, Aug 28th, 2014 at 12:57 PM.

The Mississauga South location is literally across the street from Oakville so I am not sure the logic of building in Oakville. I can get to the South location in 8 minutes or Burlington in 20 minutes. It is most likely the same for most residents. Milton would have made sense, unless the plan is to build as far north in Oakville as possible to draw in Milton.

Guelph opened a month ago (July 21 I think). We joined as one of my daughters needed glasses and they had a grand opening special of $60 off. Haven't bought anything instore since then, but have filled up on gas at $1.20 litre when the going price in the Guelph area was $1.34 litre.

Yep, the Stoney Creek (really more Winona, but part of greater Stoney Creek) Costco was confirmed to me by a costco rep at the Winona Peach festival last weekend. It will be at fifty rd. and the south service rd. Walmart was supposed to go in there as well, but there has been all kinds of hold-ups etc. The lady at the fair said that Costco plans to break ground in spring 2015, and she didn't know when they would be officially opening.
Funny to think that it will be my closest grocery store- we'd run to costco for milk, lol...I love free books! Earn points at Swagbucks and get great Amazon GCs or Paypal $$.

I talked to a man at Costco in Barrie last week, he said Orillia just can't seem to get the act going. Costco is coming?? but when?? the ground is not broken yet. He said he will believe that Costco is coming when they open the doors!

Local residents that are near a building site often have traffic concerns, density/noise concerns, greenspace issues then there's the matter of building design (always a surefire debate topic if the site is located in a zone that has a heritage feel/zoning restrictions/design rules. if applicable) plus any infrastructure needs/updating/relocating).
It happened with the Burlington (ON) Walmart just a few stone throws from the Burlington GO Station and the lot in between the two properties is the site of a new condo project. Yes, lots of articles about the work going on that stretch of Fairview Street!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
