Stepping in the door at Walmart

So.....it's been a long time since I stepped inside a Walmart. My experiences have not been the best. A new Walmart opened not to far from me so I decided I would check it out this morning. I gave it my all, I was going to print match and use coupons  I was expecting the worst, as have been most of my experiences when I try to do both. Well, I'm ashamed of myself. ....it was a great experience!

It was busy and the lines long, so while waiting, I got my coupons in order and was gathering the flyers I was using. A lady came up behind me and asked me to come to the next till. She opened the lane and I started putting items on the belt. She said "I can take all of your coupons now if you'd like. ☺I handed them to her, the she asked which items I'd be price matching.

The transaction went very smoothly,she asked if I wanted the new live better mag....and when I said ye, she gave me 5, commenting on the amount of coupons I it. I was shocked at the amazing customer service, and even went to find d the store manager to tell him so.

So, I got out of clearance 2 - oxiclean 26 tab dishwasher soap $3.49 ea - $1.50 =$1.99 ea
2 oxiclean 27 load tab Laundry soap $3.46 - $2.00 =$1.46 ea
1 Fleecy 48 load fabric softer .99 -  no coupon = .99 (they only had 1 or I would have gotten more)
Newman's Own pasta sauce X 2 $1.47 - .75 = .72 ea

And the some regular PM items and store deals Bush's beans $1.25 - $100 = .25
Barilla pasta X 4 pm $1.00 - .50 = .50 ea
Hawian Punch pm $$1.00 - $1.00 = FREE 
Coconut milk pm $3. - $1 =$2.00
Dempster Gluten Free bread pm $3 - $1 = $2 
bananas .64 - .50 = .14
Manns green beans $1.47 - .75 = .72
Cloverleaf flavored tuna $2.00 - $1.00 = $1.00
And I got a lot of other stuff. ...liverwurst, milk, chicken fajitas kit, carrots, a star frit can opener, potatoes, yogurt, puproni and Jerry treats for the dogs and more.

all this, for $41.36 ( THAT PRICE IS MINUS THE CAN OWNER THAT WAS $11.97 

So, I'll take back all my nasty words about Walmart. ...at least this store!

I am thinking it's the Target effect. All you described sounds like Target. Maybe Walmart is learning.

If you have time, maybe e-mail head office. I think that makes the store manager look good to head office.

Yes they work great. I am coming to the end of my free Finish Quantum (I had a good 2 year supply. ..good old days of stacking coupons), so I'll use oxi, cascade or find more Finish, which ever is on sale

Great shop. It was so nice of the cashier to pull you to another lane and save the negative grumblings from the shoppers behind you. Very nice customer service.

way to go holly(awesome deals)-I love my walmart near me -I price match and they are so friendly -as for the customers -I always tell them I am price matching and using coupons-tat wy t gives them an option to go to another till

Oh that is great Holly. Glad your faith has been restored. I know so many factors can leave us with a bad impression. I know we have about 6 WMs in a reasonable area around us and maybe 2 I can safely say are okay. One of them changed some of the managers and off the list of good ones so down to one. Try to remember that cashier, time of day and day and this way you cut down on some of the chances of changing your mind. It can be a throw of the dice sometimes...Now if they could all be trained like this cashier accross the country we would be so happy. Glad you told the mgmt as well, so important when good service as well as bad otherwise they never know. When they know they can change things.

Keep those Walmart brags coming...thanks for sharing and the pics too. Oh and pretty kitchen.
