dislike! Hope they work it out soon.
I was so happy for back to school UNTIL...
DD's school decided to split the kindergartens up into 2 jk/sk classes.
DD is now in the other class - different room and different teacher from last year, which in itself is fine but she is the ONLY girl to be moved. EVERY single one of her friends is in the other class. She is devastated.
I feel awful for her. She now knows only 4 kids in her class (all boys). I know she'll make new friends BUT why would they switch only 5 kids and ONLY ONE girl? Why wouldn't they mix up half? Her class was 24 last year (23 this year) and they moved only 5? At least move 2 girls! Give her ONE girl friend she knows!
In the long run it'll be good for her and teach her to adapt early in life but I'm so upset seeing her that devastated. She's been talking about her friends all Summer! I told her being mixed was a possibility to prepare her but I didn't think they'd move JUST HER!

My kids' school has almost every class split every year I do not see the sense in it. My dd start tomorrow jks go today and sks tomorrow then everyone
But because shr was split last year many of her friends are gone into grade one.
Her bday is feb so shes the oldest and now it will seems like shes in a class full of babies
Last year was split too but she used to call the other class lil kids classJOIN NOW WIN BIG in the Survivor Pool starting in the Spring

Last year they had 2 jk/sk split classes. So a bunch of DD's friends moved on to grade 1 and the rest (other than 4 boys) are in the same class, same teacher, etc. She is the SK girl to be moved. I see NO SENSE in that whatsoever. At least move 2 so she knows someone.
I hate split classes. Absolutely HATE them. And it sucks to not know until the first day. It would be nice to prepare the kids! I tried to tell her she might be in the other room with the other teacher and some of her friends will be in grade 1, etc. but it didn't prepare her enough. Her old teacher walked around and gave a name tag to all the kids in her class and when DD didn't get one she was devastated. I tried to explain it must be because she's in the other class but she kept saying all my friends are gone! She'll see them at lunch but it's not the same. lol
DD is a december baby but we held her back a year (she didn't adjust to school well). So she's definitely one of the oldest and she's not happy to be in the same class as new jks (some are still 3, she'll be 6 in december). Oh well, hopefully she'll adjust quickly!
Need to find something to keep my mind off her today. Poor muffin. lol
