Thanks! I have bookmarked the page. Would love to expand past curried lentil soup and want a bean chili recipe too.

A black or red kidney bean chili with ground beef; I just don't want one that needs 4 kinds of beans. Had made a version with vegetables including eggplant from an LCBO recipe published a few years ago-never making one with eggplant again.

I usually "wing it" and go by taste. I use a good chili powder without salt. I used my own canned tomatoes. I also add Jalapeno Peppers and either black bean or red kidney beans (I use dried beans and rehydrate them), chopped onion, and sometimes diced celery.. I have never really found an actual recipe that I liked. Everyone raves about my chili. I cook more by taste than recipes (except for baking).
The next time I make it, I will try to remember to write what I use and about how much. I also usually cook it all day long and let it get quite thick. I hate "soupy" chili or one that tastes like all tomatoes.
