My 3 mth old is my first of 5 to take to thumbsucking im not sure what to do as he is also the first of 5 the not scream until I pick him up

No clue either....DS1 didn't suck his thumb but DS3 now 4 month sucks his thumb. Well he sucks everything!. Most of the time he's sucking his fist. or whatever piece of garment in front of him.
Not sure if I should break the habit now?

Actually, it's hard to deal with it especially if your child grows older and she/he keeps thumb sucking. The best solution is at a very early age when your baby starts thumb sucking, wrap your baby's thumb with soft cloth so that, she couldn't suck it anymore. Just do it everyday..

My son is 28 months and sucks his thumb since he was born and he sucks so much that his thumb nail pretty much came off and his skin cracks :S
