Geez, you people are so sweet! At this advanced age birthdays aren't quite what they used to be; it's more a time of reflection, of giving thanks for this new day, and of recalling the years I've been blessed with...with my wonderful parents, the early, exciting years of marriage, of setting up a home, the birth of our children and our grandson and in spite of the slips and...ahem...falls throughout the years, being so thankful for all those...almost all those, experiences.
I emailed a sweet poem to our DD at work today about how thankful I am to have her in my life, how amazing she is, and she emailed me back: "Whose birthday is it anyway? You mushball. I love you!"
Flowers from my hubby....what more could I ask for?
Okay...as Tara alluded to: we're going to attend "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" tomorrow at our local theatre centre with our DD and her hubby after a lovely dinner out, but that's part of a deal I made with our DD, so it's pay-up time! Lol!
