At the end of the day, the only important people are you and your medical team. Having your beloved and/or your mother there is a coutersy.

If they are not prepared to budge on this, then you need to make yourneeds known and understood. Your health and well being is the key..

If neither of them are prepared to lay down thier pride to support you..and possibly make medical decisions if needed...them sadly..you may need a professional doula or equivalent.

It's pleasant to have the support of loved ones especially during those long hours of painful boredom of labour but if neither of the will co-operate...then you and only you get the final say.

Personaly I would have hated to have my mother present..
