Excellent Apps that Help Make It Easier To Stay On Budget
In some ways, smartphones are a terrible idea for anyone who needs to be careful with their money. They are expensive, they make it easy to waste money on apps and data, and it can be tempting to regularly upgrade models. Yet, considering that smartphones are really little computers that one always has access to, they can also be terrific budgeting tools. To anyone who needs easy, fun and convenient ways to keep track of all the money they spend, these phones can be an excellent idea.

Here are the top three budgeting apps available today.

Level Money: On this free app, the user gets to feed in how much he makes each month and put down all his fixed expenses. Then, he keys in everything spent through the month, as it gets spent. The app produces a running graph through each day to show how well one does.

Debt-Free: For anyone who is caught up in credit card debt, the Debt-Free app helps with a number of strategies and final pay-down dates for each one. With well-designed pie charts, calculators and tools, the app also makes it easy to gain perspective on one's debt.

Mint: Mint is one of the most popular budgeting apps around. It links to the user's bank and credit card accounts, and automatically grabs spending data. This way, it saves the user the trouble of manually keying in information. It allows budgets to be set for each spending category, and sends out alerts when there is any overspending. In the end, it neatly sums the happenings of each month with impressively detailed statistical charts and graphs.
