Do you like to dance?
What genre of music gets you up on the dance floor?
What type of dancing do you like to do?
... or did like, if in the past...
Do you like dancing at occasions like weddings, cabarets, etc.?
(Do people still dance at bars?)
Aside from social dancing, have you had any dance training:
ballet, tap, jazz, ballroom, folk, etc.?

I have a feeling that I would get along with Patty Smyth and Hondamanic.... I love the 80's music and loved to dance back in the day. I loved it so much, I used to be SOBER at most dances!!! Now I feel like I look like I am having muscle spasms when I dance...

Oh, Lynn, those songs are all SO great! LOVE Ann-Margret's dancing!
I love dancing, too - always have. From when I was a child, we used to attend a lot of weddings and other celebrations, so learned how to dance early. Love to polka and waltz - and even to do the bunny hop! Of course, most of the functions we attend are Ukrainian, so the highlight dance was always the kolomayka, where everyone strutted the Ukr. dance steps they knew.
As for genres, well, pretty much anything - though I have to say disco was probably my fave, since it hit just as I began university - and I was in the big city, so there were LOTS of opportunities for dances, and to go to clubs. Some new wave and punk then, too.
I'm lucky in that my husband loves to dance, too, and is very good. When he was growing up, they had dances weekly for the young ones to go to - so it seems everyone from his countryside are very good dancers!
Even now, his old body can hold out longer than mine (my knees can't keep up), so he's up on the dance floor more than me!
Growing up, I did Ukrainian dancing from when I was a wee one up to a teen.
Here's a pretty good example of the type of dancing we did - same region and similar costumes. Following the performance is a kolomayka, so you can see what it's like.
Cool that it's from Hamilton!

Love to dance. Love 80's rock music. I will dance anywhere, lol. I was in dance and ballet growing up. I love all kinds of music- except country. Just not a fan.

Maybe if we start young, like this "gentleman", we could dance in front of a crowd

Oh, I, too, did a lot of those dances at so many wedding, anniversaries...nothing like the drinking parties today; we all got to dress up in new dresses, shoes, got our hair done, remember? So many occasions to get primped up for. Although I never was part if a dance troupe, we did hire them to perform a dance at our wedding reception.....ah, lovely memories ...

I love to dance. I dance like no one is watching but that's for their own safety lol
Seriuosly though I do enjoy dancing. I'll dance to almost any music but I cant dance to jive very well.
I did take ballet for a short time when I was a kid but can't do it to save my life now.

Well, I flunked out of ballet when I was 7 (I wasn't flexible enough to touch my toes to the back of my head - think yoga cobra position, only with the knees bent and head leaning back to touch toes ). That didn't stop me from dancing and doing my own thing. In my younger days, my friends and I would go clubbing at least 3 days a week - kept that up until I got sick. We used to go to restaurants that had dance floors, so we could have a table to go back to for a breather. I would be on the dance floor from the time the dj started up around 7:30 until the place closed at 2am. I would only stop when a slow song played, even then I would be slowly swaying while I stood beside our table.
I tried to teach Lily to meringue, but she has better moves than me & always wanted to lead, so that didn't work out so well. And I've been known to dance with a cat in my arms, although I usually have to lie on the couch and nap after half a song.
