Bought one from The Brick and another one from Sears Home. Both are good.

We bought ours at Sleep Country. Buying furniture is a bit different than buying food and clothes. Couponers are used to paying the list price in grocery stores and department stores (and by list price, I mean sale price, minus coupon, minus rebate, etc.) We don't treat Walmart like a garage sale and haggle over the final price at checkout - but you can with furniture. They don't "really" price match because you'll never find a duplicate item at another store. For mattresses, each store has their own brands, just repackaged by the same manufacturer with a different sticker. Most of them are really the same, but a different fabric and called a different name. You can only compare 900 coil count to 900 coil count, and features like that.

We went to Brick, Sears, Bay, Leons, and Sleep Country to get a good idea of pricing on the features we wanted. We did our research and knew that we didn't need a coupon or sale to get the best price. If they can offer it for sale one day and regular price the next, there is nothing that says you can't ask for the sale price the week after the sale. If there was a coupon, ask for the discount of the coupon too.

We were able to get the mattress we wanted at the price we wanted, no sales and no coupons required. Some salespeople are more open to haggling because they need to make their monthly numbers. When we were looking for a new refrigerator, two salesmen working out of the same office gave me two different prices on the exact same model that were hundreds of dollars apart! There are variations in the amount of discounts different salespeople can give you. Also, some SC locations are bigger than others, with more selection. This is probably the only time you can price match in mattresses if you see the one you want in both (or ask if it can be ordered in). You can get the lowest price from one store and ask your preferred store if they can beat that price.

If they can't offer you much of a deal, you can ask for free delivery. It's a much better value than the "free" pillows and sheets they work into the price and the highest value "freebie" you can get.

Here's a bit more info from an older thread:

Thanks for all the input guys. It is so interesting to see everyones opinions.

We ended up trying out Sleep Country but left after a few minutes because I was disgusted in the way the man was treating me. There was only one sales person and he was trying to jump back and forth between us and another couple and refused to show us exactly what we were looking for but instead took us to something we specified we weren't interested in only because it was $2000 more then our budget.

We then went to Bad Boy - not much selection.

Then Sears - they did have some really great prices and a lot of selection for the kind of mattress we were looking for. Unfortunately though the sales people really had no idea about anything on any of the beds.

We found a really small independent store so we tried them out and they were selling latex mattress's which although are more expensive then conventional beds they last longer, offer better support, don't have the stinky new bed smell. The one we got is 100% natural latex, 100% organic cotton incasement with a wool topper. Although more expensive then we were originally planning on spending we managed to get the bed, box spring, frame, 2 pillows, waterproof mattress and pillow covers and a alpaca duvet + delivery and set up for $2000 less then original selling price. We are getting it on Tuesday.
