My Mom was (still is) the queen of guilt trips, so even the thought of disappointing my parents was horrifying to me. Definitely kept me on the straight and narrow (a bit too much perhaps).

When I was a young adult, I bought something then had buyer's remorse. My Dad told me that as long as I enjoyed what I spent the money on, it was ok, since the money would have been spent anyway, perhaps on something more frivolous (he told me that a few more times over the years).

Theres some others but i cant remember whats made me think lately everytime i open my mouth my mother comes out.
