Bought my parents an Android Box as a gift and hooked it up for them on the weekend. Despite their crappy/slow internet, the android box had no problem and streamed movies, TV shows, and even live Canadian/USA TV channels flawlessly.
Ironically Amazon.ca had the exact same Android Box on as part of their "Lightning Deal" on Saturday so the $46.99 box only cost $39.00 so I bought another one (this time for my household).
So long cable companies

Not sure if people are aware.
If you happen to go the OTA route for TV, apparently you can get PVR's for OTA. I haven't tried them myself, but would be interested if people have any experience with them.In 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups! Subscribe to PC Optimum Insiders & get 25,000 PC Optimum pts

The Android Box I bought for myself (since my parents 'claimed' the first one I bought) arrived yesterday so I hooked it up. KODI streams so much better than it did on my laptop. Exceptionally impressed. Screw those cable companies.

I got rid of the TV cable ages ago. Now I listen to my stereo and watch Youtube and that's fine with me.

Same here. Recently I have started listening to Radio, I was surprised how good most of it is, much better than TV . Don't miss the visuals at all.
1. You Tube.
2. Downloading the occassional movie from Torrent sites. Copy them on my USB stick and attach it to my TV.
3. Getting some Free movies from the library..they even have Blu Ray DVDs now.
4. Streaming some online content. I have NO data caps on my internet.
5. I have an OTA Terk Amplified antenna. Its internal, but I still get some 12 Odd Free legal HD channels with it. More than enough for me. Got it for 40 bucks on sale at The Source.

Do you have link to this Android Box on Amazon.ca ?
They have a zillion on Amazon, not sure which one to buy. The reviews also seem fake in some cases
I had a Google Chromecast but I found the interface and remote too crappy..not too user friendly
So I need an Android box, heard its easier to navigate, surf and select channel etc.. 50 bucks non sale price is also good

This android box is excellent! Know many who have it:
https://www.amazon.ca/Stream-Team-onD-Pro-wireless/dp/B00SCISS24/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467633677&sr=8-1&keywords=stream+team+android+tv+box
They're in Ontario and excellent customer service by Mark!
