Do women pay more than men for similar products?

Is there really toothpaste for men?!?! Gendered marketing is getting ridiculous and I have noticed there are a lot of 'for men' products out there.

I saw the toothpaste for men, but also with for women. the same brand but different colors. If i have a right remember, the price is same.

As a matter of fact, today I needed black THICK socks & in the ladies section at WalMart, I felt that $9.99 for 2 pairs was too much (Yes, I am cheap.)

I mosied on over to the men's section & there I found 3 pairs of the socks I wanted on sale for $2. FOR THE SET OF 3!!! So, of course I threw them into the cart & ditched the ladies socks.

Of course, I needed a smaller size but they were absolutely perfect & the price was much better on the men's side. : )

I stopped buying women's athletic socks and now only buy men's. They're usually cheaper and I have no problem with the fit.

Tell you an interesting France Study about this: the Associated Press found hair salons in Paris that charged women $61 and men $39. Deodorant and shaving cream were also priced differently: Women’s deodorant was $2.89, while men’s was $2.78; women’s shaving cream cost $4.07, men’s only $3.39. So we can see the difference between different genders when buying.

I'm a guy and I buy women's hair dye because the men's hair dye is 3-4 times more expensive.

In general women do pay more than men for similar products, but it really comes down to supply and demand.

Yes. I think this phenomenon really exists. Women have a strong desire to shopping so that they'll be more easy to buy things than men. So it is easy to earn women's money for merchant.

I would also like to know why women still have to pay tax on feminine hygiene products. No matter what type you buy, they're still a necessity.

And super expensive!

Maybe its just my personal preference for using Always. =|

I can understand charging more for hair cuts only because women tend to have longer/thicker hair so it takes more time but for a standard trip, it should all be the same.

I disagree with gendered haircut prices. My haircut is a layered bob which does require some work but I've been to salons where men sat in the chair at the same time or were there before me and after I'm done, they're still there. And what about women who have pixie cuts? I don't believe there is more effort involved in that than a man's hair, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Some men have long hair or want complicated haircuts. Pixie cuts for women take less time than a haircut for a man with long hair (imagine Jared Leto's hair stylist)
