I rec'd an offer of 8K WUS $40 on cosmetics. If they all work together I'd get 24K if I spend $50 on cosmetics.......is it worth trying????
I agree - I'm not a fan of these 'points will be added later' promos.

Are those 8k points to be added immediately or only later? Imo, there's a better chance if those points are added at the cash.

p.s. I am envious of all of these personal points offers. I don't think any of us in Quebec are receiving them...

My personal coupon pts are to be added immediately but this credit card offer are to be credited later. I did try to combine a personal offer that was to awarded later, with a flyer advertised offer and I didn't receive the points and was told it was because I tried to combine two offers.

Smart girl! Dave Ramsey would be so proud of you. You will never regret paying down debt and the sooner the better. I had an Optimum M/C but cut it up after I paid it off. Wish I had it now for times like this.

And just fyi, the 16,000 points = $32 on usual bonus redemption days!

Did they refuse to scan the coupon bc the total is below $50? I read the coupon's fine print and it's the same except the paying with SDM M/C part.

I didn't do the promo after the manager told me that it had to be the total after coupons etc. (and she is well-informed about being able to use coupons for 20x and 18,500 pts promos). Since it was a points added later promo, I didn't want to take a chance. Plus that offer was wus $60 get 12,000 bonus points (if I remember correctly) and at the time I didn't want to spend that much oop.

But... it's possible the manager was mistaken. So if anyone thinks otherwise, go for it and let us know how it turns out I would love to find out the manager was wrong - especially if this might be a recurring type of promo!

Anyone willing to be the guinea pig?

I participated and I think I did rather well!
I bought a lot of food items (milk, bread, butter, soups, eggs, and a couple other food items). I also got the Lysol No Touch system- a new MIR was released yesterday (or earlier this week). Anywho, you can get it via Smartsource.ca!

    Here are the numbers:

    Points Earned
    530 base points
795 RBC MC base points (RBC MC gives you an extra 15pts per dollar spent at SDM)
    8000 pts wus $50
8000 pts when use RBC MC
Total points earned: 17,325 (approx $33 on bonus day!)

    The money!
$56.85 total spent incl. tax and postage for MIR - actual OOP paid today
-$33.00 value of points on regular bonus redemption day
-$17.90 MIR for Lysol No touch system (max. rebate amount)
$5.95 OOP! (after points and rebate is received!)

Is your OOP over $50? Also the new MIR for lysol is only $14.99.

Hi Decaf, yes, I didn't use any coupons for this purchase. My bill is $53 and change prior tax, $55.80 with tax. The Lysol MIR wording on the rebate form says "Purchase any one (1) Lysol No Touch Hand Soap System and receive up to $17.90 to cover the cost of the product, taxes, and postage, by mail." So, $14.99 plus tax and postage is about $17.90.

So I did pay $56 out of pocket today; after points and rebate, it's under $6.
Hope that helps for anyone hoping to snag this amazing offer! And thanks Decaf for helping me clarify those points! Rep sent!

    Great shop, $avvy

I think the question is whether this would work if your oop falls below $50 after coupons - especially if you're charging less than $50 on the RBC Optimum MC. As I said, my manager previously said no, but we're hoping someone will test this out so we know for sure for the future.

I tried to use this coupon today and the system wouldn't accept it. It said invalid coupon code. The manager couldn't figure out why so she manually entered 8,000 pts for me and I'll just keep checking that I receive the additional 8K before Dec. 19. I know they were all supposed to come later, but this is what she chose to do. We'll see how it all works out.

I purchased eggs, milk, chocolates, a bottle of perfume reduced to $20 for son's girlfriend, and nail set. My subtotal before tax was $50.75 and I didn't use any other offers that would null this one.
