Do they also start processing electronic returns mid - February , or is it sooner than that ? Or is mid- Feb only for paper returns ?

I have received all my T4 slips , T5 slips today ( got them online )..so I don't know if I should file my taxes ( Efile ) sooner..or wait till Feb ?

The NETFILE program will be open for transmissions on February 9, 2015, until January 15, 2016, for the electronic filing of your 2014 personal income tax and benefit return. Tax returns filed via NETFILE must first be prepared using a NETFILE-certified product.

When can I expect my refund?

We usually process paper returns in four to six weeks.

However, we start to process returns in mid-February, so do not call before mid-March, even if you filed your return in January. If you filed your return on or before April 15, wait four weeks before you call. If you filed your return after April 15, wait six weeks before you call.


We can process returns filed electronically (EFILE and NETFILE) in as little as eight business days, but wait at least four weeks before you call.

CRA opens NETFILE tomorrow on Feb 9 - 2015

Finished NETFILING my taxes today , it was a breeze ..proably took me 20-25 mins start to finish ..with the tax software .

All my T4 , T5 slips were available for download online , so got them sooner & didn't have to wait for them in mail ..glad I finished this nonsense & got it over with.

Getting a reasonably largish refund this year , now will wait for it to be deposited in 8-10 days

Did you get the current upgrade to the 2014 Studio Tax? It was just recently when I opened up Studio Tax that they asked me if I wanted to get the latest update to the program.

Definately just did something stupid as I just finished doing my taxes for 2013 again. I guess I will have to do it again. Good thing for a sense of humor...might get more back if I file for the right year.

If you used the same software last year ..it lets you import stuff from last year. So lot of common things you don't have to type all over again, so you only type the changes between last year & this year.

NETFILED : My return on February 9, 2015 .

Assessed : On February 12, 2015.

Direct Deposit : Refund was DD in my bank on February 20, 2015.

Notice of Assessment : Also available on February 20, 2015.

Is anyone else getting this message when they go to Net File from Studio Tax?

Not Net Filed certified yet.

The version I downloaded, with Build date Jan 13/2015, won't let you NETFILE. This message pops up:

"You are using the older pre-certified version that cannot be used to generate a Netfile or print the return. Please use the "Help->Check for updates" menu to get the latest software update."

But when you access StudioTax website to update the free version, this message appears:

"This site is temporarily unavailable"

and it has been ongoing for the past 2 weeks. Any one else having this problem?

used this one ( Studio tax ) and all of ours are filed, refunds to arrive soon. Getting easier for me to do this now, I might even become Income tax savvy one day!!
