People's Trust is paying 3% in a savings account( not locked into a GIC). If they drop the rate in the future you can always move it but they are usually pretty competitive.

To get the PCF promotion, you need to call in.
For Tangerine, you are not required to call in, it's automatic. It's not so very clear on their site, but the 2.5% applies to RSP, TFSA, and HISA.

PC Financial's deals are a little more tricky than the Tangerine deal.
If you have an existing PC Financial TFSA or RRSP, your contribution from Jan 1 to Feb. or March will be at 2.5%.

If you are contributing to a PC Financial chequing or savings account, you have to call to get the 2.5% interest.

The interest is only for new money that you put in

Thanks for this thread! Called in to get the promotional 2.5% on my savings with PC Financial (good until end of March), got a TFSA with the 2.5% rate (good until end of Feb), and am researching RRSP rates.
