this is my fear also.. i'm in a similar situation.. we technically have 2 walmarts in our area (about 20 min apart) but with a population of probably over 350K in the area thats ALOT of people for these two stores to serve (even if only half the people shop at walmart) though both stores are both relatively newer (within the last 5 or so years) they have staff issues (never enough), lack of stock on decent sales, it's a battle to use coupons and price matching (will only price match locally and we're starting to run out of options of places we could price match... with the sobeys sale we lost all safeway stores, and chapters is heading out the window too)
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

Yes, Target Canada is a separate entity.
I noticed that the Target Canada Twitter account has not posted since the announcement about the court ruling. So I popped over to the Target News account. Oh-there's news of the new plus line that we'll not see* here in spring. Clothing looks promising!

The Canadian chain also owes Nicollet Enterprise – its parent company – $3.1-billion but will subordinate the loan facility to other unsecured creditors, the filing says. It means other unsecured creditors will get priority in getting repaid over Nicollet.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

This month, Nordstrom in Ottawa held a job fair. The new store is opening in Rideau Centre. Good opportunity for Ottawa and area Target employees

Nordstom Ottawa is opening March 6.

Doesn't explain Holt Renfrew leaving though.. here in Vancouver, the Holt Renfrew store is expanding to compete with Nordstrom.

I went to my local Target today. The Starbucks inside has closed up shop. There was hardly any clothing left. Alot of it was marked at 30% off. Most of the food was 50% off, most of it was gone. Alot of the jewelry/watches were gone as well. I will miss Target. Too bad they could'nt get their act together and give it another shot.
Alot of the stores that I like to shop in are closed now in my area. Soon I will have no where to shop other than Walmart.Join Swagbucks for free amazon gift cards! $500 earned so far!!

I think we have a lot of choices for food shopping.
Another announcement today. This may be good news.
A Japanese company is coming to Canada - Muji. They want to open one store per year in Canada. They are already in Dundas Square, Toronto.
They are coming to Yorkdale Mall.
They sell clothing, linens, stationary and storage systems.
