You may want to check the hours for your store's closing day. Mine is closing at 5 p.m. instead of the usual 9 p.m. Apparently staff will packing up what's left of the stock for the rest of the evening.
I said my goodbyes to the staff already as I won't be able to get in there again before they close. I will miss Target and it still makes me sad they are closing down. I am glad I have some nice things to remind me of the store and my enjoyable memories of the staff, and shopping there. Wasn't able to grab a Target recyclable bag though - are the Target Canada one's different from the Target US ones? If so I may grab one the next time I'm at a US store just o have as another reminder.
SilkHave a great life!

Add Future Shop to that list . Lots of jobs lost ove there..too . So now these guys will be competing with Target guys for a retail job, not a pretty picture.
Economy is in the dumps, Oil layoffs have already started in AB.
Some will be converted to BB , & Some will be closed.

All Targets scheduled to close by mid-April now
"A court-appointed monitor overseeing the windup of the Target Canada stores says all 133 locations across the country will be permanently shut down by "as early as mid-April," which is about a month ahead of schedule."

Not much time left
What happens to the unsold stock after all the locations close ? What do the liquidators do with it ?
I guess we might find the stock later on in various warehouse sales, other no name liquidation types sales or even flea markets. Liquidators sometimes sell it to even smaller lower liquidators, who then sell them in various mom & pop stores.

Before the bankruptcy announcement a lot of Kingston Target's clearance went to the Big Deal location down the road. I'm guessing I'll find the remnants there in a few weeks. That is, if there are any! Sadly, you'd get a better deal buying the clearance item from Target (eg. I saw the same pair of Xhilaration socks at Big Deal selling for $1, but I paid $0.60 at Target).

smaller independent liquidation stores will buy it up as a lot on a super discounted rate and sell it (places sorta like xscargo, direct liquidation, McFrugals) last christmas i saw target christmas merch from the previous year at a liquidation type store..
i have a feeling stores with unopened merch won't be opening many of those boxes anymore they will just sell it off as a "lot" to another discounter they'd probably get better bang for the buck that wayWhen life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

Really only 13 stores still left open in Canada ?..I though it was a bit more than that
Target shelves are bare again
There's very little left to buy at the 13 stores still operating in Canada.

Hope that those Target stores do not stay empty for long. Good tidings to all Target-ettes.
