A nice memory was one Friday, went in when the store opened and the item I wanted was not in stock. It was in the flyer. I asked the Target employee about it and they said to call before coming back. They did not have rain checks then. I told the Target employee that I was leaving on a trip and the flyer special would be gone before I came back. The employee apologized and told me to go to Starbucks for a tea or coffee on them. Then proceeded to contact Starbucks on their walkie talkie, telling them I was coming.
Good customer service, indeed.

I was happy to see two of three designer collections at my local store (third one did not bring in the item I wanted!) and get something from each one of the two I liked. Their bathrooms ranked up close to Hamilton Eaton's bathrooms after the Eaton Centre came in-spacious, clean. Women notice those rooms!
Daytime staff seem the most chipper given the sunshine. I've gone at night a few times; Nov/Dec. staff did not really go out of way to greet unless I was the only customer in their zone and they were doing stocking. I feel sorry for one worker who looked to be close to my age working the changeroom/clothing area at night-she had to answer the store phone, page staff, handle customers coming/going from changeroom. She looked so forlorn. She was cordial but the way she was leaning on the counter said "I'm ready to drop into a chair now."Last edited by Ciel; Thu, Jan 22nd, 2015 at 09:39 PM.

Since I used a grocery store's self checkout after my Target visit today, I have to say a favourite memory is realizing how much easier it is to feed coins/bills into Target's lower placed receptacles in their own checkout units. It's been a few months since I used the Target ones-the red unit colour provides a nice contrast against the slot and blinking light.
At Sobey's, I had to look for the blinking lights for cash (coins/bills)-the receptacles are plastic and flat black. The Sobey's unit took several seconds to acknowledge my $1 coin after my 10 cent coin was inserted and acknowledged (can of pop purchase).Last edited by Ciel; Sat, Jan 24th, 2015 at 07:49 PM.
