Bought 2 boxes of frozen boneless chicken breasts at RCSS last week. I took them out of the boxes and individually wrapped the and put in freezer...unfortunately, otherwise,I would be returning them. They were cheap $13.10 a box...I guess you get what you pay for...so,disgusting...they not only taste disgusting the texture is disgusting as well. Yuck. When you defrost them they are sitting in a puddle of liquid, so,I patted them dry but the texture is gross. So now I am wondering what I am going to do with about 35 chicken breasts. Any suggestions? I I don't think I would, even feed them to my dog.

We tend not to buy frozen chicken either. Growing up, my mom and grandmother called it "pressed chicken" but I think it was closer to formed chicken, like you would make for chicken nuggets. That said, we've bought boxes at Costco when the price was low.

This is what I usually made with them. It's basic and I didn't thaw the chicken breast out, just laid it on top of the rice as the recipe suggests.

Maybe try roasting them from frozen, see how that works.

Or pan fry. Just to see if they are edible at that point.

    1. Dice them up, pan fried and use them in fried rice recipes.
    2. Run the breasts through a grinder, add bread crumbs and seasonings to the grounded meat then form into chicken patties.

You could try marinating then baking. Then using it up in soup... might be a nicer flavour? Yum soup.

If you can bear to, cut the chicken into thin strips. Pan fry them (can use a bit of bacon fat or just use a non-stick pan), then place them on a cooling rack on a cookie sheet and place it in the oven. Turn the oven on the lowest setting, crack it open a smidge (to let the moisture out) and leave overnight (or use a dehydrator if you have one). Your pup will have treats for a while.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Will give them a try...probably cooking from frozen and then using in soup is the best option as I can eat them in small,bites...maybe it won't seem so bad.

I think cutting them up and using them is soup & chicken fried rice etc, is probably something you can do

oh i know the feeling.. i'm very very picky about which "boxed" chicken i'll buy after trying soo many and them being absolute crap.... i'll ONLY buy the lillydale brand frozen box they defrost fairly well.. and still taste decent (we often BBQ or shake and bake it)

I feel your pain - I learned that lesson too! I think as the others said, soup is a good option.
