Saw it on TLC Extreme Cheapskates
Roy Haynes, the cheapest man in America, cuts open his toothpaste tube, to get more toothpaste. He says there is a week's worth left inside.
Do you cut your toothpaste tube or just through the tube in the garbage when you can't squeeze any more?

Can't say I've ever done that. I wouldn't think there'd be a weeks worth though if you opened it up. Maybe a day or two at most.

Heard of it, no need to bother doing it. I just squeeze as much as I can to the top, rolling up the tube, then wiggle the top thingee back and forth to get more out.
Used to be easier when tubes were metal - y'know back when there were dinosaurs.

I just get lazy I guess and throw that last bit out because I typically have 20 free tubes minimum waiting to be used lol

Thanks Shwa. I usually use Desert essence, but occasionally use Tom's.

Yep! I've done that. There really is quite a bit left, even if you try to squeeze it all out.
As for the guy in the video...things like cutting open the tube or picking up a coin off the sidewalk don't take a lot of time and effort. But not spending money seems to have taken over his whole life, to the point where he's taking advantage of other people.

I can't say I've ever cut the end off a toothpaste tube, but I do use something similar to this to get most of the toothpaste out...
