QotD: 20 Jan 2015: Go Play Outside

I loved being outside in the winter as a kid. Summer however, I would be in an air conditioned basement avoiding the heat.
Now I hate both equally. I enjoy fall and spring, minus the rain.

As a kid I was always outside, my grandparents lived on a farm and they watched me well Mom worked so I was outside playing in the wood pile or in the fields, plus they had a pool and a massive farm drive way for me to ride my bike or skateboard on. I was always on the go outside and had a wild imagination so I was always good at amusing myself even when playing alone.

I do not have kids but if/when I do I will encourage them to spend time outside. After seeing younger family members grow up I do not agree with some things I see like using the TV as a babysitter and almost a want to keep them inside so you did not have to worry about what they were doing. I always found it funny to see the parents outside doing stuff but the kids in the house having "alone playtime".
