I was in RCSS this morning and if you remember a while back they changed the discount on bakery and other goods from 50% to 30%. Well I went in today and they are now using 25% off stickers. It seems like they are trying to see how small a discount they can get away with before people stop buying reduced goods .. for only 25% I bought the full price with a longer shelf life!!

I was at RCSS yesterday and things were still 30%, I asked the guy in the bakery if they were selling a lot of items, He said, not as much as when It was 50% but they were selling enough not to put it back to to 50%. I asked him what does he do with the items he doesn't sell..he said he throws it out!! I said the company would rather throw the stuff out than sell it for 50% off, what a shame..I hardly buy anything at 30%.. But now if it goes to 25% I will definitely not buy anything!! I find it disturbing that they would rather throw out good food instead of selling it to their customers!!

We used to enjoy the occasional visit to RCSS to see what was on clearance but at 30% we don't even look through stickered items. I personally think RCSS will lose out in the long run.

For just 25% off bakery I won't bother. With 50 off I would buy stuff knowing some was going to be compost as it would not be eaten before it was stale. I am not buying short dated product just to throw half out.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

It seems to me that with the amount of stickered stuff I see at RCSS, that their pricing is off. If stores like RCSS marked the prices of their fresh product appropriately, they would sell more and have left over that they need to discount. I took a business course one time that analyzed this approach at length and demonstrated that a profit-oriented business one should really try to price product at a price where they will sell most or all of their product rather than too high and have to sell leftover product at a discount.

I won't buy reduced bread for 25% because that is a joke. Sale prices are often more than that lol. It won't turn me off of shopping there though.
