Thread: Warm Winter Coat
-
Fri, Jan 30th, 2015, 03:01 PM #1
I am in the market for a new winter coat. I am looking for warmth and comfort.
I was looking at Canada Goose but all sizes are now sold out. I looked at Pajar and tried on a few jackets recently at a SAILS, however, I found it to be really bulky and heavy.
Any suggestions?

You seem to be looking at parkas. Are you going to be spending time outdoors (commuting/walking yourself or a pet) a lot during winter?
Or do you need a coat for the car and very short (under 10min) walks to buildings?>would suggest a coat from Marks' called WindRiver (store brand).http://www.marks.com/webapp/wcs/stor...&storeId=10151
SportChek might have some winter coats too but selection will be hit and miss.

Canada Goose is in the $500+ range.

Thank you for the suggestions. I travel around town quite a bit for work...so in and out of my car. I also walk to pick up my children from school.I am always cold and for many years, I would be buy one jacket after another (on sale) hoping to find a really warm one but never found the right one.
This year I have decided to bit the bullet and spend more money (if I have to) in order to find the warmest jacket. I have purchased north face, Columbia, Eddie Bauer, and the gap in the past. They were all at least 50 to 70 percent off when I purchased them..

Arc'teryx makes great jackets that aren't bulky. They're a Canadian company and they come with excellent warranty. I own one and it's my favourite jacket!

Try Columbia Sportswear coats with OmniHeat technology. Sports Chek carries some Columbia models but am not sure about OmniHeat styles. There are CS outlets in Niagara (Outlet Collection at Niagara) and in Halton Hills (Toronto Premium Outlets).
