These sounded like they'd be SO good! I found them in Sobeys, $4.19 for a very small bag, but decided to treat my family for the Valentines Day weekend.

I do NOT recommend them. DS found them salty. The chocolate was only on one side of the chips, and the whole bag was maybe 15 small chips. What was in the bag sure doesn't look like the picture on the outside of the bag! I thought they were OK, but not worth half the price I paid.

I was so disappointed, the pic on the package looked beautiful! There were big bits of salt on the outside too. I'm definitely going to try doing them myself some time, with decent chocolate. I'm told wavy, thick chips work better than thin flat ones. Going to call the company, hopefully get at least an FPC out of it.

I haven't seen the Lay's ones, but other supposed 'upscale' specialty ones.
Not something I would try, though.

Mind you, I do make chocolates at Christmas called Cuban Lunch which have peanuts and crushed up ripple chips, plus melted PB and dark chocolate.

I was going to say, buy a bag of the NoName Brand rippled chips for .97 at NoFrills and whichever chocolate you like, melt the choco and dip the chips! Half the price but triple the amount of deliciousness!

I was first introduced to chocolate covered chips when I was in PEI about 4 years back. I think they were called PEI Chips. They were the most delicious thing I'd ever had. I bought probably four packs before I left Charlottetown. Perfect amount of salt and perfect amount of chocolate. I was considering trying these but I'm glad I didn't. Thanks for the heads up Zonny.

I saw these at Walmart for $4.50, thought they looked good, but I'm glad I passed them up.
